Rules
Apponair has one slot. Whoever holds it has the homepage to themselves until somebody pays more for it.
One app at a time
The homepage shows a single app: its icon, its name, its category, one line about it, its screenshots and a link to its App Store page. There is no feed and no second slot. While you hold it, nothing else is on the page competing with you.
The price only goes up
Every takeover costs one dollar more than the holder paid. The first slot went for $1, so the next asking price is always the current holder's price plus a dollar. It never falls, and it never resets.
You hold it until someone outbids you
There is no time limit. A slot can last an hour or a week — it ends when somebody decides the homepage is worth a dollar more than you paid, and not before.
Ten minutes' notice
When someone buys the slot out from under you, the page says so and starts a ten minute countdown. You keep the homepage for those ten minutes. Then it hands over.
If a handover is already pending, you queue
Only one takeover can be in flight. Buy while a countdown is running and you join the line at that price, then go up the moment the slot in front of you frees up. The page tells you how many are ahead.
Paste a link, that's the whole setup
Give us an App Store URL. Everything shown — artwork, screenshots, category — is pulled straight from your listing, so there is nothing to upload and nothing to design.
Your turn is kept
When your slot ends, your app moves down to Apps of the Day with the views it drew and how long it held the page, ranked against everyone else who has had a turn.
This is a demo. The clock runs twenty times faster than real time, the challengers arriving on their own are apps we picked, and nothing is charged to anyone.
